Final Morning

This morning was used to do a little edging of the fairway bunker we rebuilt on the future 8th hole, the existing 5th, and to shoot several photos.

The bunker behind the first green, and between the green and 2nd tee (to the left).

Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon

Good day to take a day off. It rained, so I visited the project with Andreas Kruse who was on-site throughout the winter up to the point where all the dirt work was completed.

After looking around, giving his nod of approval, and asking if the club knows what they got, we went and looked at a couple courses in the region.

Hell Bunker Construction Progression

Starting the process.

Rough Shaping.

Sand waiting to be spread.

The grass is only 12 weeks old, Next year the edges of the this 2.5 meter deep bunker, should be framed with long, flowing, golden grass.

A Look at the Fairway Bunker on the 4th

Before construction began.

Before bunker construction had started.
The bunker would be placed just left of the no longer existing birch tree and above the cab of the bulldozer.

Roughed out during construction. This bunker sits directly on the line of play. There will be fairway left and right of it; a shorter more treacherous road
between the bunker and trees, and a longer, safer route.

Sand in the bunker awaiting to be spread.

Now on to the waste Bunker

The morning sun reveals the contours of this 50-meter deep green. The waste bunker has been edged, and we started revealing the form this afternoon.

The bunker left of the green is almost done. The "flat-top" hill left is going to be lowered by half tomorrow. Should take about 15-minutes.

A close-up of the waste bunker edge being scraped free.

Meanwhile, out on holes 3 and 4, the smaller fairway bunkers were edged and scraped free, ready for sand to be spread around.
