Bunker Detailing Starts... Now!

Yesterday evening I walked around to see how the project has been growing in, and to get a feel for possibilities. It allowed me to sleep on what I had seen and start today with some ideas in mind.

The summer has been ideal for grow-in. Dry during seeding in early April, and then too dry up to June. During the last 5-6 weeks, when it should be hot and dry, it's been cooler than normal, overcast and a little wet... Perfect for growing grass. Once again we have had great luck!

Below are photos from our starting point, during construction, yesterday evening, and how the hole looks like at the end of the day after edging the bunkers and spreading the sand.

This evening.

The grass is young, a mere 10-weeks old. Next year this picture will look different. There will be hard rough (long grass) left of the large bunker, the fairway forms will be cut; a combination of height, color and texture contrasts that will add beauty to the picture.
